B. Thayer Associates (BTA) provided Preliminary and Final Design documents for Civil Engineering Design, Landscape Tree Mitigation Design, and Arboriculture services for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) for Phase II of the Starlight Park project, located along the Bronx River. The Park is surrounded by a dense urban community who has a continued vision to connect to the green-way which features three pedestrian bridges, a shared path, rain gardens, seating areas, lighting and signage.
Our Civil Department coordinated with the RBA Group for the rehabilitation to the shared-use path which included the realignment of the path and upgrades to the drainage. BTA also updated the permit application for new and upgraded utilities within the Park limits. Our team of Arborists inventoried all 658 trees within the potential construction impact area. Trees were tagged, geo-located using GPS coordinates, identified and assessed per the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYCDPR) Tree Inventory Work-book format.
