IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the hardware and software of servers and desktops. Assist IT manager in maintaining a network consisting of 70 people within an architecture and engineering firm. Position is at our corporate headquarters in Woodbury, NY. Travel to our Long Island City office will be required at least once a week.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain and inventory of all hardware
  • Maintain and inventory all software and licenses
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolving problems
  • Handle storage, backups and active directory services
  • Apply OS and software patches and upgrades on a regular basis
  • Support and maintain printers and copiers
  • Maintain, train and monitor the use of the existing network file structure

  • Skills Required

  • Windows Server 2003/2008R2/2012R2 Windows XP/7/10 expertise
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Windows AD
  • Support experience with Microsoft Office products including Office 365 administration
  • Familiarity with a virtualized environment - VMWare

  • Education and Work Experience

  • Develops detailed construction plans for moderately difficult building, bridge, or highway structures using CAD or REVIT methods
  • 2-3 years of experience in help desk support
  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or related field
  • Microsoft Certification a plus
  • Knowledge in programming and databases (SQL and Access) is a plus

  • Travel Requirements

    A valid driver’s license. Travel to our Long Island City office at least 1 day per week.
