B. Thayer Associates provided architectural services for the conceptual and schematic design related to the Master Plan study for the Bathhouse renovation / expansion at Sunken Meadow State Park. Services included existing condition surveys, program requirements, design alternatives, cost estimates and preparation of schematic drawings for presentation to the NYS OPR&HP.
Expansion areas included new lifeguard facilities with lockers, showers, restrooms, a break room, storage, etc.; a new Police Station with offices, break room, lockers, showers, restrooms, and storage; and an exhibit and education center. Some of the new functions in the facility were achieved by adopting a new use of the old buildings.
Renovation areas included public restrooms and bathing facilities, first aid facilities and administrative offices.
