LIRR Port Washington

The purpose of the Long Island Railroad Port Washington Branch Bridge Abutment and Retaining Wall Restoration project was to restore the structural integrity as well as the physical appearance of all the retaining walls and bridge abutments along the Port Washington Branch.

B. Thayer Associates was contracted to prepare structural repair drawings for breaches in the structural integrity found during the construction phase of the project. Tasks include integrity testing, structural evaluation of under-grade structures for 286K carrying capacity, and the design for strengthening, rehabilitation or replacement of structurally deficient structures.

B. Thayer Associates Shas performed all work expeditiously as to not impose on the LIRR's milestone schedule.
