This project involves topographical, utility, and right-of-way surveys at several locations contiguous to 43 schools located throughout the five boroughs, which are to be used in the development of safety enhancements recommended by the NYCDOT Office of School Safety Engineering. Before commencement of field work, extensive utility and Right-of-Way research is performed. All sites are tied into the respective Borough horizontal and vertical datum from published benchmarks or RTK GPS observations. Data collection and field to finish routines are undertaken in order to generate topographic mapping. Utility data are incorporated into the mapping from record plans, field observations and mark-outs. Utility and roadway profiles are then generated and added to the base mapping.
